A CREATIVE SPACE IN LAURELES
Today we are reviewing one of the best-known coworking spaces in the city, La Casa Redonda located smack dab in the middle of the popular Segundo Parque in Laureles. From the outside it’s impossible to miss: bright purple, two stories high, with a bright yellow front door. Open that door and you’ll be warmly welcomed into an artistic labyrinth filled with all kinds of interesting professionals, from architects and artists to developers and even a toy maker.
Once you get past the two super-friendly dogs (Tulio and Lula) you will see just how big this space is. On the ground floor there is a large coworking space at the front and small private offices at the back. You’ll also find a big kitchen with free coffee and water plus a fridge full of beer! Take the old-school staircase to the second floor and you’ll arrive in a really gorgeous coworking space with a balcony looking out onto the park. The large desks are lined with plants that give the space a really relaxed feeling. There are more offices on this floor as well.
Then there’s the rooftop, which looks out over the park and further into the city. This is the perfect place to hold a meeting to impress a client or just enjoy a drink after work.
One of the things that I love about this place is that every nook and cranny is filled with some interesting object or piece of artwork. Many walls are painted with very cool murals and plants are used a lot throughout the space to give it really great vibe.
A real plus about La Casa Redonda is its location. It’s so central that if you’re staying anywhere in Laureles it’s never more than a 5 minute stroll away. There are a plethora of cafes and restaurants in the surrounding blocks so that if you ever get hungry or fancy a coffee break you are spoilt for choice. If you’re coming from Poblado or Envigado you can take a Metro to Sud America Station and walk around 15 minutes, or why not just take an Uber?
There is something for everyone, whether you are working solo and just need a desk for a day or you are in a team of 6 people looking to get more productive. I recommend coming for a day and checking out what’s on offer so you can choose the space that best suits your needs. Personally, I like the coworking desks on the second floor, there is a fresh draft all day and the big plants make it a nice environment to get some work done.
Prices are good value for the location and the overall quality of the place. Sure, you can find cheaper options but if you’re looking for a creative and professional space with an interesting community of workers then this could be the perfect space for you.

I know that La Casa Redonda is the first choice for many digital nomads in the city. Wandering around the space you’ll hear a mix of Spanish and English, which makes for a real vibrant place to work and meet new people. I’ve heard nothing but positive things about the space from other nomads staying in Medellin and it’s no surprise that this coworking space is so popular amongst the community.
EVENTS AND GATHERINGS
Events are held here on a very regular basis. They often have a weekend artisanal fair to showcase local talent as well as rooftop meet-ups and events. Keep an eye on their Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/pg/lacasaredonda.tc/events) for all up and coming events, it’s a great place to meet new people and see the city in a new light.
Overall La Casa Redonda is a really fantastic place to work and be productive. The owners are really friendly and more than happy to help you get settled in their wonderful coworking space. If you like to be in a quirky and artistic space while you work then look no further. You will also meet loads of like-minded people here and have the opportunity to socialize outside of work hours thanks to the awesome rooftop, events and, of course, the fridge full of beer! I 100% recommend checking out this co-working space, I’m sure you’re going to love it.
